SEM is proud to announce that a subcontract agreement will be shortly signed with the company Kharafi National for the Deployment of a WiMAX Network

SEM is proud to announce that a subcontract agreement will be shortly signed with the company Kharafi National for the Deployment of a WiMAX Network in Kuwait Oil Company having coverage of the entire Company operational Areas into wells and rigs.
The contract is to provide rolleout of 2.5GHz WiMAX technology starting from the RF planning , BTS installation ,CPE, NMS and Surveillance Cameras,
The new communication system will have to be integrated into the KOC's backbone transmission network and computing environment and the contract will last 66 months. In the next days SEM will start the RF planning so to install the first tower during the summer.

This is a very important achievement for the SEM 4G Network division that honors the very high skill of the team and the important investments done by the company.

Other interesting businesses have been opened in Russia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Spain

SEM and Indra Sistemas signed an agreement

SEM and Indra Sistemas signed an agreement with the purpose of settling possible commercial relationships to offer products, services and solutions to clients into the project "P15.2.7 Airport  Surface Datalink" which is part the program "Single European Sky ATM Research" (SESAR). This agreement will allow technical data exchange and laboratory tests to verify the capabilities to develop a wimax system for use in the future airport surface data  link standard (AeroMACS), which is a European undertaking with the support of WiMAX Forum. In this context Indra Sistemas and SEM will develop and run some validation tests in an enclosed environment (i.e. laboratory, wired) to make a BTS and a CPE operate  in the 5,095 – 5,150 MHz band.

The ICE3Max 3.4 - 3.6 Ghz Passed the IOT Tests

The ICE3Max BTS which is now under test at AT4 in Washington to be certified Wimax Forum has now passed  all the Interoperability tests (IOT) and running really fast to be the seconf Wimax product that SEM is qualifying Wimax Forum Certified.

The ICE3Max 2.3 - 2.5 Ghz is Fully Certified Wimax Forum

On June the 25th, the Wimax Forum organization published the first Base Station designed and made by SEM which is now fully qualified by the Wimax Forum organization. The qualified BS, named ICE3-max 2.5, is a fully outdoor base station wimax wave 2, with 2x2 antenna system (MRC/MIMO) which includes two ethernet interfaces and is equipped with on board GPS receiver. The wimax certificate in the number 000383 released on June 15th.

SEM Becomes Wimax Forum Principal Member

Due to his long history on the wireless development, SEM decided in 2008 to dedicate part of the wireless team to start developing within the WiMax arena. The first Base Station was released in 2008 and it was followed by other BTS in different frequency band. During the year 2011 SEM decided to start a series of WF certifications and this operation started joining the Wimax Forum to become in May 2011, Wimax Forum Principal Member
